Kooth joins Be U Swindon - a portfolio of early intervention services available to local young people
Kooth, the UK’s largest digital mental health support service, has been commissioned by ABL Health to provide young people aged 10 -18 in Swindon with free mental health support, with no waiting lists.
The service, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, gives children and young people free access to:
- •
One to one online sessions with trained and qualified mental health practitioners
- •
A rich library of supportive content and resources
- •
Online tools shown to support mental health and wellbeing, including goal setting, a mood tracker and an online journal
- •
Safe and fully moderated forums and discussion boards where young people can share experiences with peers
Be U is delighted to welcome Kooth into portfolio as the digital provider: “Kooth is an easy-access online tool that complements our existing mental health support services; we’re delighted that it is now part of our ‘Be U Swindon’ initiative. Kooth means that children and young people always have somewhere to go to find help and support when they need it.”
Established in 2001, Kooth’s no-barrier approach to offering evidence-based and clinically safe mental health support in-the-moment is critical in addressing the growing demand for support.
Dr Lynne Green, Kooth’s chief clinical officer, commented: “For too many people, mental health support is difficult to find and comes after a long wait. We’re pleased that ABL Health is providing help when and how it’s needed and encourage any young person in Swindon who is struggling to reach out for help from Kooth.”
